A servo release system for a locking catch, e.g. for a glove box, has the catch located in a housing (Z) with integral spring to hold the catch in the locking position. A cable pull (13) connects the catch to a reel (5) which is connected to a servo motor via a simple clutch. Two or more catches can be connected to a single reel, with the ends of the cables secured into a cross slit in the reel.
