The main body of the rail contains openings (13) extending at right angles to the surface of the body, through which a mounting pin (14) can be passed. The rail (8a-8c) comprises a main body with pairs of lips (9a, 9b) extending along its length on two opposite sides. The lips in each pair are located one above the other and are sufficiently elastic so that the thick edge (3a) of a screen (3) can be inserted into the space (11) between them by moving the lips apart. A locking means (15a, 15b) on the main body in between the pairs of lips extends in the rail length direction and is used to secure the rail to clamping parts (5a-5c). An independent claim is also included for a device for providing protection against the weather, comprising two or more rows of posts (4a) with clamping parts at their top ends oriented in the row direction and with cross-direction clamping parts (6a-6c). The above profiled rails are secured along the clamping parts oriented in the row direction using mounting pins. The cross-direction clamping parts extend over the rails.
