The saw has a container (3) including a motor to drive linear saw blades (2a, 2b) fixed to a scaffolding strut. The blades have elastic regions (20a, 20b) that are formed by a stamping procedure during the manufacture of the blades. The elastic regions exhibit a half circular arch form in cross-section. The elastic regions stretch horizontally towards the cutting edge when the saw teeth touch a hard or hooky object e.g. nail. An independent claim is also included for a procedure of producing of a linear saw blade of a sword saw.
