Counter piston engine for e.g. plunger-type machine, has cylinder crank housing made of lower and upper half shells that are formed by casting, where shells are joined by screw after installing engine components in housing
The engine has a cylinder crank housing made of lower and upper half shells (1, 2) that are formed by casting. Engine components e.g. crankshafts (3, 4), connecting rods, cylinder sleeve and gear wheel, are installed inside the housing. A cross screw (5) joins the two half shells after the components are installed. Bearing seats of the crankshafts are placed on walls of the shells to absorb engine vibrations.
