The device has an intermediate medium (21) placed in direct proximity to an opening (20) of a casing (15). The medium is made of substances that increase in volume when they come into contact with a fluid or gas in a container (6). The increase in volume of the substances leads to swelling of the intermediate medium (21) through the opening, so as to seal the opening of the casing.
