The gas bag has first and second side parts an affront part that are joined by two-dimensional seams. The gas bag is in the form of a sock whose "sole" and front are formed from the front part (16) and whose sides are formed from the side parts (12). Both side parts are sewed together on the side opposite the "sole". An independent claim is also included for an airbag module.
