The optical device has a beam splitter (1), positioned along the laser axis and using reflection at optical surfaces (4,5) for directing part of the laser beam onto a sensor. The optical surfaces are used for defining the opposite sides of a contamination-free hermetically sealed inner space (I), which is highly transmissive for the wavelength of the laser radiation (L).
