The closure has a support (1) with latch (2) and locking pawl (3). A catch hook (4) of the latch holds the closing bolt both in the main locking position and secondary locking position but when the catch is released through the pawl the closing bolt (5) held by the hook moves whilst remaining on the hook together with the catch out from the main locking position into the secondary locking position. The closing bolt can be released from the secondary locking position through side displacement of the hook into the unlocking position. The pawl can be connected to an interior actuating element e.g. Bowden cable to release the catch from inside the vehicle.
