Fixing element comprises a stop collar (1) with a protruding anchor (2) having claws (3) for guiding the anchor through an opening. The anchor and claws have a rectangular opening cross-section with non-identical long square sides. The opening cross-section of the anchor complements the cross-section of the opening. The fixing element is clamped between the stop collar and the claws on the edge of the opening on rotation by a specified angle on the stop so that the claws engage in a clamping manner. In the region between the stop collar and the claws, the anchor has an anchor cross-section through which the stop can be rotated and through which the fixing element in the transverse direction of the opening is held in a movement-free manner. To fix the anchor in the longitudinal direction of the square opening, the fixing element has a movable slide (5) that can be introduced into the region of the opening not filled by the anchor.
