A support device (12) for a Coriolis mass flow meter/density meter fastens to inlet and outlet ends of a measuring tube (11) so as to let the tube vibrate. Test signals represent vibrations at the tube's inlet and outlet ends. An electronic evaluation unit generates an intermediate value from the test signals to represent an uncorrected mass flow rate and a corrected value. An independent claim is also included for a method for using a Coriolis mass flow meter to generate a measurement value representing mass flow of a medium flowing in a pipe line.
