The device has a cascade-like carrier frame (1) with brackets connected by first joints (6), defining several hierarchical planes. The joints permit relative pivot movements of the brackets in respect, parallel to a longitudinal centre plane of the wiper blade. A bracket of the first plane is formed as a main bracket (3) connected to a wiper arm. The brackets of the last plane are end brackets (5) to hold and guide a wiper blade rubber (2), and the intermediate planes have intermediate brackets (4). The frame has at least one additional joint (11). This permits a relative pivot movement of two sections of the frame connected by this joint, in one plane only, at right angles to the longitudinal centre plane of the wiper blade.
