A vacuum pump (700) is connected to an adsorbent tank (500) for separating residue absorbed from a fuel cell system (200) by the adsorbent in the tank. A pressure gauge (800) estimates the pressure of the tank. Each shut off valve (100,300,400,600) is positioned in inflow and outflow passages of the flow fields in fuel cell and of the tank, respectively. An independent claim is also included for removing method of residual oxidant, gas fuel and water in fuel cell system.
