The device has a YCbCr averaging unit (530) to obtain YCbCr averages of an YCbCr image data. A YCbCr averaging unit (540) converts output RGB image data to YCbCr image data, and obtains other YCbCr averages of the data. A RGB gain controller (550) compares the latter averages with preset target averages, respectively and obtains RGB gains based on the former averages and provides the obtained gains to a RGB multiplier.
