The setting mechanism has a hollow body (01), exhibiting a reversible deformation in response to pressure applied via a pressure medium, projecting from one end face (03) of a hollow space (02) extending in the axial direction of the printing machine cylinder and fitting into a successive hollow space, similarly extending in the cylinder axial direction. The transition between the successive hollow spaces is defined by a guide (11) for the hollow body attached to the wall (06) enclosing at least one of the hollow spaces.
