The instrument carrier (1) has a carrying profile (4) extending between the A pillars of the motor vehicle, whereby an active arrangement for vibration damping associated with the carrying profile contains piezoelements (8-11) positioned in the joining region (6) of the steering column and carrying profile. The piezoelements are arranged at an angle to the longitudinal axis (LA) of the carrying profile.
