Error-tolerant control system for multiphase reluctance motor for power steering in road vehicle has circuits determining position of four- pole rotor inside six-pole stator and has two inverters
The motor control system is connected to a first DC terminal (34) at 42V and a second DC terminal (36) at 14V. Each terminal has an inverter (38,40) with three sets of diodes, transistors and stator pole windings (28a-32b) and current switching terminals (50-60). The inverters are connected to rotor (14) angle sensors (64,66) with microcontrollers (46,48). An angle sensor (15) is connected to a comparator (62).
