The hanger has a support ring (5) attached to an outer surface of a melting crucible and supporting the crucible`s weight in a base region (8) of crucible. Supporting units (6) rest over the entire crucible length and against an external lateral surface of the crucible, in a hanging state, such that the crucible can not be tilted over. The units are horizontally connected with each other through addition chains or rope pieces.
