The method involves enclosing the packed film system (3) in a packaging film (2) and placing this into a container (1), whereby the packaging film is vacuum sealed to a lid (4) of the container and the enclosed volume between the folded film system and the packaging film is evacuated. The packaging film is tear- and vacuum-resistant and the container can be hermetically sealed. An independent claim is also included for a device for packing and fixing large area folded film systems.
