The circuit has a first electrostatic discharge or ESD protection element (11-13) connected to a first supply voltage node (V dd1-VDD4) and with a control input for activating it in the event of an ESD loading and an output via which charge is removed, a second ESD protection element connected to a second supply voltage node with a control input for activating it in the event of an ESD loading and an output via which charge is removed, a control bus (18) connecting the control inputs and an overvoltage detector (14-17) that control the control bus depending on the potential at the first supply node.
