Vehicle body consists of two structural parts bound together by at least one strip (3,4) fitted on both parts outside the junction at which the parts meet. Alternatively the strip is fitted to part 1 at both ends while the area between its ends encloses the other part at least partially. The strip is long and flat and can be made of metal or a fiber-reinforced plastic. It is arranged so as to display high resistance to traction forces and low resistance to pressure forces. The connection between the strips and at least one structural part can be welded, riveted and/or glued.
