The device has a control unit (16) with a vibration generator that generates vibrations. A vibration transmitter (12) is connected with the generator for transmitting vibrations to keratin fibers. The transmitter has two sections that are brought into a treatment position, in which the fibers are secured between the sections. The vibrations are transmitted by one of the sections in a clamped position during the treatment. An independent claim is also included for a method for treating keratin fibers.
