A casing (4) defines a glove box capacity (V) and protrudes into a motor vehicle's knee space (3). So as to ensure greater knee room, the casing or parts of it are designed so that parts of the glove box can be moved out of and into the knee space, in order to produce a change in the glove box capacity. An independent claim is also included for a dashboard with a glove box for a motor vehicle.
