The clothes hanging system for use e.g. in meeting rooms is fitted on the back of a chair (100). It comprises a telescopic pole (5, 6) which carries a clothes hanger (9) at the top. The pole is held in position by hooks (13) which fit around the sides (S) of the chair back and are attached to the ends of a rotating shaft (3).
