A shopping aid for use in conjunction with a supermarket trolley has at least two separate basket inserts which fill the trolley basket and which enables the shopper to sort the items into the separate baskets. The paid items are sorted back into the inserts and the shopper is able to take away the paid items in the insert baskets, e.g. load the insert baskets in his/her vehicle. The empty insert baskets stack into each other for a compact storage.
