The sharpening device has two rotating sharpening bars (11, 12) in a housing. The bars are inserted by one end in arc-shaped recesses (17, 18) in the front and rear walls of the housing. They are loaded towards each other by springs (13, 14). A knife guiding aperture (7) is formed by slots (8, 9) in the front and rear walls.
