A papermaking assembly feeds a wet web (1) supported by an air-permeable belt (2) at high speed through a stabilizing station. A low pressure chamber (12) with side covers is located between the web stabilizer and the belt. The web rests against the belt face on the opposite side of the low-pressure chamber. The chamber has external ribs (12) supporting the belt. The external ribs are positioned sequentially and have a crown formed by a line of rotating spheres.
