The differential gear (3) for a vehicle for the distribution of torque to two output shafts (4,6) and for the compensating of a RPM difference between the output shafts has the coupling point (16) of the output shafts enclosed by a differential cage (12) which is supported in the differential gearcase (13) via at least two bearing units (14,15). At least one of the bearing units is located on the circumference of the differential cage in the region of the coupling point between the emerging sections (17,18) of the output shafts from the differential cage.
