The protection switch has a main housing (11) with a housing lower part (12) and a housing upper part (13), respectively provided with a magnetic drive (26) and main terminals (18). A termination module (30) with control clamps (40) connected to the magnetic coil (28) of the magnetic drive is fitted to a stepped-back edge (19) at one side of the housing upper part, the control clamps lying infront of the plane of the main clamps when viewed from the housing front (15) and connected to the magnetic coil via connection leads (41) and cooperating control sockets (45).
