The joint (10) between an insert sleeve (11) and a housing (12) produced by a rotation casting process incorporates a housing wall indentation whose surface section is roughly parallel to the inner face of the insert sleeve. The wall thickness (WDV) at the joint is chosen so that it is about the same as the wall thickness (WDG) of the housing. An independent claim is also included for a housing with the proposed joint, in particular, for the air filter of an internal combustion engine.
