The engine of a car a have four cylinders (1, 2, 3, 4), each with a fuel injection device (5, 6, 7, 8). The motion of the piston rods is transferred to the crankshaft (10) by a connecting rod (9). The injection devices (5, 6, 7, 8) are joined by a shared connection (11) to a control unit (12) which is also connected to a sensor (14) monitoring the condition of the driver. As soon as a sleepiness is detected, the fuel injection periods are altered creating a vibration which is easily noticeable but does not startle the driver.
