The device for the dosing of bulk materials has a dosing container (2) with a material inlet (1) enabling a permanent material feed. The material inlet and material outlet (3) are relatively arranged so that in the filling position a limited amount of bulk material (S) flows into the dosing container. The region of the container between the material inlet and outlet is constructed so that in the empty position a part of the material flows out of the dosing container. With each dosing cycle a constant sloping face is left on the remaining bulk material. An independent claim is included for a method for the dosing of bulk material by the aforesaid device.
