The method involves providing a recycling of an exhaust gas from an exhaust gas line (114) through an exhaust gas recycling (AGR) valve (122) in a suction channel (112) of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine (100) by an exhaust gas recycling (120). A control parameter of the engine is set and adjusted with regard to a stabilization of an ignition in a combustion chamber (116) of the engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a computer program with a computer code for a controller of an internal combustion engine (B) an internal combustion engine comprising a controller.
