The slide bearing shells are located with frictional engagement in bearing bores. A microstructure (7) increasing the friction is located in the area of the contact surface between the bearing bore (3) and the bearing shell (6). The structure consists of microscopic craters in an irregular arrangement. It is formed by subjecting the inside of the bearing bores and/or the outside of the bearing shells, to blasting with small particles. The structure is positioned in areas of the contact surface, which is subjected to the highest surface pressure during operation of the bearing.
