Encryption method for digital video and sound information in which the sound or video data are encrypted with digital speech information and can be only by decrypted using speech information. An incorrect decryption attempt results in the video and or sound information being played back in an incorrect manner. An independent claim is made for a device for playing back encrypted digital video and or sound information.
