The seal assembly (10), within a suction roller (14) and the like in a papermaking machine, has a seal (20) against the moving roller surface (12) on a mounting. The seal contour forms two opposing sealing zones (42,43) in a convex curvature, with one against the moving surface when in operation and held in place by a lock (45). The two sealing surfaces are identical. The position of the sealing surface is adjustable on a joint (22), moved by a pressure hose (24).
