The method involves specifying a raster matrix with a defined size for each peak of threshold value to be generated. A preset number of pixels is set in each matrix, and neighborhood matrices are determined for respective raster matrices, where sizes of the neighborhood matrices correspond to sizes of respective raster matrices. A statistical distribution is determined for each set and not-set pixel of the raster matrices. The pixel having minimum distribution is determined in each neighborhood matrix, and an additional pixel is set for the pixel. A value of corresponding field in a threshold value matrix, is incremented, for each pixel set in the raster matrix. The size of the threshold value matrix corresponds to the size of the respective raster matrix. The above process is repeated until all pixels are set in the raster matrix. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a threshold value peak for frequency-modulated screening (B) a use of threshold value peak in frequency-modulated screening.
