The airbag assembly (1) for a road vehicle folded airbag (6) is packed over a gas generator (5) in a diffuser (7). It is surrounded by an electrically earthed housing (4) with capacitative and high resistance connections for discharge of static electricity. The housing is mounted in the hub (2) of the steering wheel and there is a cover (3) over the folded airbag.
