In a process for mechanical removal of cores from cast parts, especially large cast parts, the part core is rotated by means of an unbalanced drive (22) with simultaneous vertical oscillation on a jolting table (11) with a cutting head (27) at the top, to produce energy rich jolting motion so that the core can be knocked out. An independent claim is included for a device for core removal as described above with the use of spring elements (9,10).
