Integrated catalyst system for removal of harmful substances containing nitric oxides comprises at least one nitric oxide storing component, at least one in situ ammonia-generating component, which converts nitric oxide to ammonia, at least one ammonia-storing component, and at least one selective catalytic reduction component to decompose nitric oxide by ammonia. At least two of the components are present on a common substrate or on a joined substrate system. An independent claim is included for preparation of the catalyst using washcoat process.
