The technique is for the identification of peptides from data in databases derived from mass spectrometry, where the fragmentation spectrum of the peptides under study is interpreted with flow cytometry amino acid sequencing software. The sequences thrown up are compared for identity with a genome database. The selected sequences are placed in a dedicated database according to the mass of precursor ions for each validated peptide, to be correlated through a program for software supported identification of peptides based on mass spectrometry data.
