The interior door trim (108) contains a receptacle (114) for portable electronic device, in particular, chip card (116), designed so that operating buttons (118,120,122) of portable electronic device remain accessible for a user, if the electronic device is in the receptacle. The operating components are activated for controlling functions of the motor vehicle. The door trim comprises a wireless interface for communicating with the electronic device. A control device, e.g. an electronic control unit (ECU) communicates with the electronic device. The control device can be connected to a communication bus. An independent claim is also included for a door module comprising the interior trim and electronic unit with user interface. Electronic device may be a mobile phone, PDA, navigation unit or chip card.
