The indoor fountain (10) has a basin (12) with a support (22) extending from the bottom of the basin towards the opening (24). A plate-form cover (26) fits in the basin opening and has an opening (32) in the bottom (28) for a riser pipe (20) and holes for return flowing liquid. The cover is designed in such a way that the bottom of the plate in the fitted state rests on the support and the edge (30) of the plate extends to the side beyond the wall (16) of the basin. A pump (18) is installed inside the basin and is connected to the riser pipe.
