The objective has a lens system (5) for imaging an object (2), the lens system including, in order from the object, a convex light entry surface (7) and a rod lens (6). Preferably the rod lens exhibits a longitudinal body (9) with flat exterior surfaces (10), with at least in each case a plano-convex entrance lens (11) fastened to it, and/or at least a plano-convex exit lens (12). Thus the resulting exterior surfaces of the rod lens are convex and/or the lens is a biconvex rod lens. The magnification provided by the rod lens is adjusted by changing the distance of a reversal lens system from it. An independent claim is included for a micro visualization system including a miniature camera, with a micro visualization objective.
