The spinning machine (1), with a number of spinning stations (2) producing wound yarn bobbins (3), has transport disks and holding spindle as peg trays to carry off full bobbins and deliver empty bobbin sleeves (6). Each spinning station has a mechanism to exchange full bobbins for empty sleeves. Auxiliary spindles (15) are at each station, as temporary storage for bobbins and sleeves, each with its individual carrier (16) to be inserted loosely on two neighboring transport disks in the row (11) of peg trays (12) and between them.
