A memory stores input-side rotational speed and torque, change gear ratio and oil pressure, correspondingly. The input-side and output-side rotation sensors (15,16) and torque sensor (17) detect rotation speed and torque of input-side and output-side discs (2,5). A controller (20) selects specific oil pressure for hydraulic press apparatus, from memory, according to detection result. An independent claim is also included for test device for toroidal type stepless transmission.
