The alloplastic ligament, in particular, in the form of a crucial ligament consist of a plastic material which is at least partially coated with an aluminum oxide ceramic, a zirconium oxide ceramic or tantalum. As a result, direct contact between the plastic material and surrounding tissues is eliminated or at least reduced. An independent claim is also included for a prosthesis incorporating the proposed alloplastic ligament.
