A method for producing chains, e.g. for flexible supply lines in which the chain is rolled out to follow equipment movements, has plastic moulded chain elements and link plates with the linking plates (1) provided with two holes to grip studs on adjoining chain elements. The link plates are positioned into recesses in plates which form part of a moulding process for creating the hollow chain elements in a continuous process, and with the studs moulded to grip into the holes in the link plates.
