Computer workstation or PC with access protection for prevented unauthorized access to the computer. The computer has a distance sensor (6), e.g. integrated in the monitor frame, that detects the distance to a computer user and signals this distance to the computer processor unit. Dependent on the measured distance, access protection is activated or not. Distance access protection can be integrated with time-controlled access protection.
