The strap includes an inner strap layer that lies on the wrist or lower arm, and a decorative outer layer. The inner strap layer comprises pit-tanned leather with a structure and composition with antibacterial properties. The leather is preferably tanned with a tanning agent based on valonea, and/or oak or spruce bark.
