The method involves grouping a number of two-dimensional x-ray tomographic raw images according to a cyclical relative time, generating at least two preliminary three-dimensional image data sets from corresponding raw images, comparing preliminary three-dimensional image data sets to derive at least one movement matrix, applying the matrix to a target data record to produce a movement-compensated data record and summing it with a further movement-compensated data record or another preliminary data record corresponding to the same reference time. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing the inventive method.
